Convenience is what we look for in things that we have to do. If we have things that make life convenient, it will make chores easier and faster to do. Good dog grooming equipment is what we need in grooming mans’ best friend. For home use, we need them to reduce the mess that goes with grooming. Dogs need to be stationary especially while bathing and giving them a trim. So what is the equipment needed for grooming dogs? A dog needs to be bathed first. So a Grooming Tub will greatly help. The tub should have non-slip flooring. It should also have drain ports to dispense off used water. More importantly, it should be well elevated from the floor. Along with the tub, a good Spray with Complete Faucet package that would have hot and cold water running through it is good to have. Some tubs have a provision for a faucet attachment. Of course, you will need a Dog Shampoo to complete the bath. That’s for bathing equipment.
When dogs are kept indoors or there is no place where they could dry off, you must have a Hair Dryer or Blower. Moisture left on the coat of the dog could have some unwanted odor or smell if it takes longer to dry. There is also a tendency for the dog to lick the moisture from his body. That would leave a smell of the dog’s saliva or mouth on his hair.
Another dog grooming equipment will be a Grooming Table. The table should be able to hold the size and weight of your dog. There are tables adjustable in height for more comfortable access to the dog while brushing or trimming. Talking about trimming, a Pet Clipper kit makes that job a lot easier. It will be good to have the DuraEdge Traditional Blade because it stays sharp longer. Dogs hate the feeling of their hair being pulled. The Slicker Brush helps in combing away the dogs coat while trimming. You would not want to be sweeping away the dog’s cut fur when he shakes them off him. With these equipments, handling and trimming the dog should now be very convenient.
For dogs mostly kept indoors, you should have a Nail Trimmer as one of your dog grooming equipment. Dogs’ nails grow excessively long and curve too much at the tips. In trimming the nails, the length remaining should be long enough to allow the dog to have a good ‘grip’ on the ground. A dog’s nails do not really grow long because it should scrape on some rough surface in the natural environment. Floors inside a house are too smooth to ‘file off’ the dog’s nails.
Another suggestion of grooming equipment that is a great idea to have in your arsenal is a good dog grooming book. this will give you a reference to have on hand while you are getting busy with your dog washing activities. We have downloaded almost every grooming book out there in an effort to see which ones make the cut and which ones are not worth your time, money and effort. There are three dog grooming books that really stand out and would be a huge help for you.
